Thanks for the comment. Wildfires and earthquakes are pretty normal in California. I covered quite a few when I was still working as a phoJo in the Marine Corps in San Diego. They devastate when they come to populated areas and the Santa Ana winds are blowing hard. Now though, these are being sparked by homeless folks angry at the government and wealthy who could care less about the people living in poverty. Huge problem and getting huger.

Bob, What is going on with John ? Will he be back ? Soon ? Meanwhile, you are doing a fine job of keeping the photos interesting and quite the sense of understated humor.

Martin Broderick left a message on 29th Nov 2011. He was saying he used to work with a man called Ernie Cutbill at Phillip Mills a long, long time ago. I am Ernie's oldest grandchild....I would love to hear about my Grandad. He was always whistling. I posted just now on the other site with the photos about him. Perhaps Martin Broderick will tell me more....

Hi John - re, Cissie Violet A. Goldfinch, I saw your photo of her headstone. I am her great-niece although I never knew her. I would love to contact any member of her family to try and connect. My father, Donald Mackrow, was her nephew. Cissie's brother, Albert Mackrow, was my father's father. If you have info about the photo, please email me. I'd really appreciate it! Thank you, Julie Mackrow (Vancouver Island, BC, Canada)

Hello John, I have been looking at this boat with a view to building one, your model looks excellent, can you help and advise if there are any plans I can buy and whom from.
Best Regards
Barry
btw I usually go to Bushey Park with a group of us to sail our models, and what a range of models, one of the best is Ashleys Lotus as featured in the model boat mag last month.

Hi John, with regard to your gallery photos of Streatham cemetery and to assist any researhers looking at the annotation to the gravestone images, you might like to adjust the dates on some of the photos. I am the archivist for the Firefighter memorial Trust and can advise that the following dies on 6 November not 16th. The gravestones are engraved correctly, it is the added text that is incorrect.
HH Butcher, JJ lewis, OJ Steele, WH Childs, MW davies. All dies on 6th November.

Also the correct spelling for SG Duwegier should be Du Vergier.

Thanks for displaying them
Alan

Looking at your photos of Wandsworth Cemetery brings back so many memories. My twin sister Michaela passed away in 2002 and is buried there. For 8 years I haven not been to visit her grave as I live in Germany and didn't have a chance to go to London again. Tomorrow I am going... and sometime this week visit her grave.

Thank you once again for your photos...

Hi John.
See you have a photograph for Henry WARD and Olive Florence STOCKER and son Henry. I believe son Henry married Ida Florence DELLER on 25 July 1936. Ida is my father's twin sister. If you have anyway of confirming marriage or if the couple had any children would very much appreciated indeed.

Hello John, I loved viewing your amazing photos. I was wondering if I could have your permission to post your photo of "Eugen Sandow's"grave from Putney Vale Cemetery on the "findagrave.com" website. They show his old marker and would love to send them your nice photo of the unusual monument. I know the person on that site who can add it if I get your permission. Thanks for the wonderful tour of England in your photos!

Hi John
Your photos are superb. I see that you have photos of a couple of the gravestones for 'Bailey' in Putney Vale Cemetery. I believe that Peter Bailey was also buried there who also had relatives in Portsmouth. I wondered if you could please post a photograph of his gravestone here. It would be good to make contact with Neil Bailey who is related to the family and has also posted a comment here in your guestbook. Best wishes, Margaret

Dear mr Cooper,
i have found your photographs whilst searching for information on River Wandle. I am an art teacher and working on a GCSE project on waterways. I hope you are happy for me to use the photos as part of an introduction into the issues regarding the Wandle?
I also love cyprus and was interested in the building photos. i hope to do the same soon in a village near larnaca.
Thanks you.

Please post the photo of the current monument for Eugen Sandow to a memorial for him on findagrave.com. It is a free site and only the unmarked and previous memorials are posted. The memorial may be accessed by keywording on Eugen Sandow Grave, the link should take you there. Registration for posters is also free and spam-free.

Thank you for the photograph of my Great-Grandfathers grave in Putney Vale Cemetery (actually a headstone only as he was lost on the 'Bayano' and his body never recovered. I enjoyed your beautiful pictures, I found the site while looking up Putney Vale cemetery. I have a distant relative buried there in 1926. It would be marvellous if you could find the grave! He was Joseph Wilson of Cumberland House, 83 West Hill, Putney. He was the older brother of Sir Isaac Wilson who built/endowed the Wilson Cottage hospital at Mitcham. He was quite wealthy, I imagine there would be a substantial memorial. Sir Isaac and his wife Sarah, and 2 children are buried in the graveyard of the Mitcham Parish Church. I am descended on my Mother's side from another brother of the above. I am trying to piece together tthe Wilson ancestry. Not easy from Australia!

Hi John,I've only been getting up early to observe sun rises since a rather awful holiday in the I.O.W.,2/3 years ago.I like to go rambling. My wife doesn't.Ne'er the twain shall meet. She kicked up such a fuss over my walks, leaving her alone, that I chose to resolve the matter by having my walks and indulging my photography hobby at one and the same time.It transpires its the best time of day anyway.

I was looking for Mascotte Road, Putney in 1890. It's so small it's not named in Philip's Handy Volume Atlas of London in 1920, but you have a picture of the very house I am looking for! Everyone should be ordered by Tony Blair to have a site like this and post photographs of every street within a set radius of their house, if they don't they should have their identity card confiscated. Thank you.

John, I continue to be amazed by your devotion to fighting The Battle ("UFO'S Over My House," etc.). Our people are proud to be associated to a man who cleverly documents street scenes in the London area for the purpose of tracking certain beings that live among us with the thought of taking over the world. Stay vigilant (I know you will). Give my regards to Tara (not Broadway), who shows great promise in the documentation sciences.
